The Deluxe Banking program covers every aspect of maintaining a
checking account: Deposits, Personal Checks, Check Registers,
ATM/Debit Cards, PIN Codes, and Monthly Bank Statements. The program
spans a three-month period to give participants "true-life" banking
practice. Participants complete financial transactions such as
paying monthly bills, obtaining cash for unexpected expenses, paying
for recreations, and buying gifts for relatives and friends.
This program is easy to facilitate because the format is similar to
keeping your own checking account. Individuals of varying reading
and money math abilities can set their own pace with or without the
aid of a calculator. The math abilities of some students will allow
them to begin with the Level 2 version making the program effective
for inclusive math classroom settings. The complete program is as
easy as Make a Transaction, Record the Transaction, and Find the
Balance.
Deluxe Banking uses the same format as the Check Writing program
with 2 levels of worksheets. Level 1 Worksheets have a Helper Guide
to assist participants in making the transactions described in 80
"real-life" scenarios and a reminder to record the transactions in
the check register. These are for individuals who need maximum
assistance in learning to maintain a checking account. Level 2
Worksheets repeat the 80 scenarios but do not have a Helper Guide or
a reminder to record the transaction. These are for individuals who
need minimum assistance or who have successfully completed Level 1.

This sturdy three-ring binder is conveniently tabbed into the
following sections: Level 1 Instructions, Level 2 Instructions,
Blackline Masters, Answer Keys, 80 reproducible Level 1 Worksheets,
and 80 reproducible Level 2 Worksheets.
• Blackline Masters
Forms include Check Register, PINs, PIN
Registration Form, ATM/Debit Card, Bank Reconciliation, and Progress
Charts for Level 1 and Level 2.
• Level 1 Worksheets
Worksheets include Fill Out a Deposit Slip, Write a Check, Go to the
Grocery Store, Make Your Refrigerator Payment, Get a Haircut, Help
Pay the Phone Bill, Get Money for Lunch, Help Pay the Rent, Use
ATM/Debit Card, Bank Statement, Balance Your Checkbook, and many
more. The Level 2 Worksheets contain the same scenarios but do not
include the Helper Guides.
• Deluxe Check Wallets
Each of the 10 Check Packets include a Deluxe Check wallet with
three Check Pads and PCI Check Register, along with handy slots for
the enclosed PCI Identification Card and other forms of
identification or banking cards. This pocket book approach helps
teach participants the importance of keeping all check writing
supplies together in a safe place. The three check pads contain 25
checks apiece. These realistic checks are actual size to help
prepare participants to write small enough for the space provided on
real checks. They contain the same information that real checks have
so that the transition to opening and maintaining a checking account
at a local bank can be as easy as possible. Each check pad also
includes eight Deposit Slips. The PCI Check Register has a large
space for each entry to make it easy to record written checks and
deposits.
