In the Driver's Seat
Revised in 2004, In the Driver's Seat is a comprehensive driver's
education program. This complete, easy-to-use program is designed
for teenagers and adults who are reading below grade level but have
the ability to become safe drivers. Helps students master the basic
skills and concepts taught in driver's education classes. The
consumable Student Workbook is written at a 3.0-4.5 reading level.
The Teacher's Binder includes a lesson plan for each unit of the
student Workbook, followed by multiple activity sheets and quiz. As
students read the text and complete the activity sheets, they learn
the information they need to successfully pass the written portion
of the driver's license exam.
Student Workbook
The 72-page, full-color student workbook features 12 easy-to read
units. The consumable workbook is based on driving rules in five
major states including California, Florida, Illinois, New York, and
Texas, and teaches generally accepted driving rules in the United
States. The workbook covers getting a driver's license, traffic
signs, lights, pavement markings, intersections, right-of-way,
turns, signaling and passing, parking, speed limits, sharing the
road, safe driving tips, traffic tickets, emergencies and accidents,
alcohol and drugs while driving, and more. Includes photos,
realistic illustrations, and a glossary.
Teacher's Binder
The reproducible Teacher's Binder features a lesson for each unit
with objectives, prereading activities, and discussion questions.
The worksheets that follow include true/false, matching,
short-answer, fill-in-the-blank, and crossword-puzzle activities. An
overall review and final test are included. along with a complete
answer key.
