Money Skills: Coins and Bills
Coins and Bills teaches the student to count coins or bills of a
single denomination.
On the odd levels, a number of coins or bills of a single
denomination are displayed on the screen. A number key helps the
student to count the money. On the even levels, the money is shown
for the student to count without the aid of the number key.
When a correct answer is given, the program displays the answer in
the middle of the screen. If a wrong answer is given, the answer is
shown on screen, the student is corrected and given another chance
to answer. After a specified number of wrong answers is given , the
student is shown the correct answer and allowed to try again.
Coins and Bills can be set to use money from the penny up to the $20
bill. American, Canadian, European, British or Australian money can
be used.
Interface Options:
Supports keyboard, mouse, touch screen, IntelliKeys, and single- or
dual-switch input.
Single- and
dual-switch scanning are built-in (6 different ways), and special
prompts allow blind students to use all levels of difficulty.

Money Skills: Coins and Bills contains the following difficulty
levels:
American or Canadian money illustrated.
Difficulty levels for other currencies would be similar.

Level 1
• Displays a number of pennies for the student to count.
• A number key helps the student count by cents. In this example,
the program is set to display values less than $1 using the dollar
sign and decimal point.
Level 2
• Displays the pennies with no number key.

Level 3
• Uses nickels instead of pennies.
• The number key shows counting by 5 cents. In this example, the
program is set to display values less than $1 using the cents sign.
Level 4
• Nickels without the number key.

Level 5
• Dimes with key.
• In this example, the student has correctly answered that the 10
dimes equal $1.00.
Level 6
• Dimes with no key.

Level 7
• Quarters with key.
• In this example, the number line for mouse and TouchWindow users
to use is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Level 8
• Quarters.

Level 9
• American half dollars with key showing 50-cent increments or
Canadian dollar coins with key in 1-dollar increments.
• This example shows Canadian dollar coins.
Level 10
• American half dollars or Canadian dollars.

• Here the student has correctly answered $14.00 for the seven
2-dollar coins.
Level 12
• American dollar bills or Canadian 2-dollar coins.
