Money Skills: Counting Money
Counting Money teaches the student to count coins or bills of a
single denomination.
On the odd levels, a number of coins or bills of a single
denomination are displayed on the screen. A number key helps the
student to count the money. On the even levels, the money is shown
for the student to count without the aid of the number key.
When a correct answer is given, the program displays the answer in
the middle of the screen. If a wrong answer is given, the answer is
shown on screen, the student is corrected and given another chance
to answer. After a specified number of wrong answers is given , the
student is shown the correct answer and allowed to try again.
Counting Money can be set to use money from the penny up to the $20
bill. American, Canadian, European, British or Australian money can
be used.
Interface Options:
Supports keyboard, mouse, touch screen, IntelliKeys, and single- or
dual-switch input.
Single- and
dual-switch scanning are built-in (6 different ways), and special
prompts allow blind students to use all levels of difficulty.

Money Skills: Counting Money contains the following difficulty
levels:
American or Canadian money illustrated.
Difficulty levels for other currencies would be similar.

Level 1
• Displays a row of pennies and nickels for the student to count.
• In this example, the program is set to display values less than $1
using the cents sign, and the money is sorted by denomination.
Level 2
• Nickels and dimes.

Level 3
• Pennies, nickels and dimes.
• In this example, the program is set to display values less than $1
using the dollar sign and decimal point. The student has correctly
answered $.24.
Level 4
• Dimes and quarters.

Level 5
• Pennies through quarters.
• In this example, the option to sort the money by denomination has
been turned off.
Level 6
• Quarters and American half-dollars or Canadian dollar coins.

Level 7
• Pennies through American half-dollars or Canadian dollar coins.
Here we are showing Canadian money.
Level 8
• American half-dollars and dollar bills or Canadian dollar and
2-dollar coins.

Level 9
• Pennies through American dollar bills or Canadian 2-dollar coins.
• When using American money on levels 9 through 15, the half dollar
only appears 1/10 as often as any other denomination.
• In this example, the student has correctly answered $3.15
Canadian.
• The number line at the bottom of the screen is for mouse and
TouchWindow users to use to enter their answers.
Level 10
• American dollar bills or Canadian 2-dollar coins and $5 bills.
