Sound Beginnings 2
Grades Kindergarten-1, Inclusion
Ideal for speech therapy.
Activities are fully configurable for various ability levels, and printable
user records are also available. There is even a gallery which can be viewed
showing saved screenshots from selected activities that the users have
played. Students will want to play over-and-over again!
Activities
• Counting – Creatures are shown on
screen and users respond by making a noise or saying the correct number,
from 1 to 10.
• Flying – Sustain a sound for as long
as possible in order to keep a creature floating in the sky with her
balloon.
• Painting - Paint a picture by using
noise or speech. Call out colors and parts of the picture will fill-in
accordingly!
• Racing - Use sustained sound to keep a
car moving around a race track. Students explore usage of volume - the louder
the sound becomes, the faster the car will travel!.
• Placing – Reinforce placing or
positioning words by calling them out to make the character appear in the
right spot. At the simpler level, users may simply make a noise and see
where the character appears in the room.
